The Superior, Wis. Parks and Recreation Commission has taken a big step into simplifying how their public spaces are reserved and encouraging more activity in those spaces. Last month the organization approved a plan to implement Spotz, a space management software that allows users to search and book for rentable spaces in their community. Organizations such as the Superior Parks and Recreation Commission, list these spaces and manage them through Spotz.
According to an article in the Superior Telegram, using Spotz will help them eliminate paperwork and mailings and allow registrations to be tracked in one location.
Councilor Keith Kern, commissioner chairman of Superior, is quoted as saying, “I think this is great. This is getting us to where we need to be in terms of efficiency.” Currently, if someone wants to rent a space three forms are mailed back and forth, a process that is often time-consuming and inefficient.

Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Director Linda Cadotte is banking on the efficiency of the new software, and also the fact that it will highlight even more facilities for use. “Maybe people don’t know they can rent the pickleball courts for a game, or they don’t know they can rent Stone Circle at Girl Scout Point,” she says in the article.
