Parks and Recreation professionals provide a community with so much more than just a space to play and an opportunity to have fun. Parks and Recreation departments facilitate health and wellness, community planning, habitat preservation, environmental education, and so much more.

Shannon Sonnier, the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation in Johnson County Kansas, says, “We all know 2020 has been unique and challenging in many ways. Even still, our team has consistently found ways to reinvent what we do and how we do it in order to provide the quality services our patrons have come to know, expect, and rely on. Even as we find it necessary to be physically apart, we’ve found ways to create community and remain connected.”

Being outdoors and remaining connected to nature and community during this time is so important. In many large cities, this wouldn’t be possible without parks and recreation professionals.

“The work we do positively affects everyone we serve. From our programs to our parkland, we put our community first. We also provide low or no-cost quality programming to ensure everyone who wants to participate can,” says Jill Leiker, who is also from Johnson County Parks and Recreation.

Spotz knows that parks are about so much more than just spaces. Parks are a place to gather safely, a place to make memories, and a place to be connected to each other and the outdoors.

Let Spotz be your solution to host and manage your spaces so you and your team can focus on the other things that educate and provide joy to your community.
